A thunderstorm doesn’t have to last long to wreak havoc.
Getting caught outside in one of these could be deadly – so remember – if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. If possible, get inside a hard top vehicle – not a convertible. If one is not available, find a low spot away from trees, fences and poles. If you are inside when a storm hits, stay away from windows and go to the lowest level of your home. Unplug unnecessary appliances and do not use corded phones.
